David Bessason, owner of ProK9, is a retired police officer who dedicated his career of almost 30 years to training police dogs intended to aid in the efforts of the Winnipeg Police Service. In 2017, after a long and successful career, Dave retired from the police force but was soon sought after by True North Sports & Entertainment, a company who owns National Hockey League (NHL) team- the Winnipeg Jets. After the league made detection searches for explosives mandatory, True North knew there was no one better in the business than Dave Bessason and his team.
